Ender Suvaci is a Professor of Materials Science at Eskişehir Technical University in Turkey. Ender received his B.Sc. degree in Metallurgical Engineering from Middle East Technical University (METU) in 1993. He completed M.Sc. & Ph.D. studies in Materials Science at the Pennsylvania State University in 1996 & 1999, respectively.

He received XEROX (best Ph.D. thesis in Materials Science) Award in 1999 at Penn State. Due to his outstanding research activities, he gained many awards both nationally & internationally which include METU Prof. Dr. Mustafa Parlar Education & Research Foundation Technology Incentive & Anadolu University Science & Technology Incentive Awards in 2002, TÜBİTAK (The Scientific & Technological Research Council) Incentive, Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA) & Outstanding Young Investigator Awards in 2006 & 2007.

Dr. Suvaci was Visiting Scientist at Darmstadt University of Technology (TUD) in Germany as Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellow for 18 months. Ender is a founder of many social groups. He is co-founder & ex-officer of The Materials Science Club at METU. He was President & Vice-President of Turkish Student Association & International Student Council at Penn State.

PhD Students

Sakhavat DADASHOV.

WhatsApp Image 2022-09-06 at 10.45.56Sakhavat is a student of Chemical Engineering at Eskisehir Technical University. He received his bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Baku State University (BSU) in 2014 with high honours. Dadashov completed his master’s degree in Chemical Engineering at Eskişehir Technical University in 2021.

He received the Master’s Thesis Award (Best Master’s Thesis in Engineering Science) at Eskişehir Technical University in 2021 for his academic work completed during his master’s journey.  Sakhavat has also received several academic incentive awards from the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK).

Sakhavat continues his education as a PhD student at Eskişehir Technical University with Türkiye Scholarships. He is working as a researcher in the TUBITAK 1004 Project led by Mr Suvacı. In this project, he is responsible for the synthesis of lead-free piezoeletric materials to produce nanogenerators for wearable electronics.

Gamze YÜKSEL

Gamze received her bachelor’s degree with honors from Anadolu University, Department of Chemical Engineering, in 2016. She completed her master’s degree in Advanced Technology-Nanotechnology at Eskişehir Technical University in 2019 and worked on studies on providing flame retardant properties to polymers. Master’s Thesis: “Investigation of the synergist effects of hindered amin light stabilizer (HALS), phosphorus and nanomaterial combinations on the thermal degradation and combustion properties of polypropylene (Engellenmiş Amin Işık Stabilizatörü (HALS), Fosfor ve Nanomalzeme Kombinasyonlarının Polipropilenin Termal Bozunumu ve Yanma Davranışı Üzerindeki Sinerjik Etkilerinin Araştırılması)”

During her master’s degree, she worked as a researcher in the TÜBİTAK 1002 Project on the following subjects:

“Investigation of the Effect of Hindered Amine Light Stabilizers (HALS) on the UV Resistance and Combustion Behavior of Phosphorus-Based Flame-Retardant Polypropylene (Fosfor Esaslı Güç Tutuşur Katkılı Polipropilenin UV Dayanımı Ve Yanma Davranışına Engellenmiş Amin Işık Stabilizatörlerinin (HALS) Etkisinin Araştırılması)”

Gamze continues her education as a PhD student at Eskişehir Technical University, Department of Materials Science and Engineering. She is entitled to be supported by the following programs in her PhD education.

  • TÜBİTAK 2211-A General Domestic PhD Scholarship Program

Nisa ERGİN

Nisa Ergin graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the Materials Science and Engineering Department at Eskişehir Technical University. She completed her undergraduate thesis under the title “Development of Single Crystal Piezoceramics for Biomedical Applications” and conducted an internship in TÜBİTAK related to this field. She is currently pursuing her doctoral studies, which she initiated with a bachelor’s degree in the Materials Science and Engineering department at Eskişehir Technical University. She is continuing her doctoral research within the scope of the 2244 project, an academia-industry collaboration project led by Ender Suvacı, focusing on the subject of ‘Development of New Generation Cosmetic Formulations, Containing Metal Oxide Particles via Utilization of Principles of Surface and Colloid Chemistry’

Nesli YÜRÜK

Nesli is a master of student at Materials Science and Engineering and also student at Chemical Engineering as double major . She recived her bachelor’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering at Eskişehir Technical University in 2023 with the second degree.
She studied Upgrading Of Low-Purity, Low-Cost Zinc Oxide Raw Material To Purity That Can Be Used In Pharmaceutical And Cosmetic Industries during her undergraduate thesis with her lab mate Alper. This Project was supported by TUBİTAK 2209-B. In addition, they got first place in 16th project fair at Eskisehir Technical University.
Now, she is continuing her education as a master of student at Eskişehir Technical University. She is studying about KNN based electroceramic materials for her graduate thesis.
